• Candy
• Candy Scoops
• Small cellophane bags or mini boxes for guests to fill with candy
• Ribbon, labels, and other embellishments to decorate the jars
3. How much candy do you need?
The number one thing to keep in mind when creating a candy buffet - Don’t skimp! Instead of thinking in terms of how much candy each guest will actually take or eat, it's best to think of your candy buffet as an attractive element and focus on creating a display that looks eye-catching like other party decor you have at your event.
There are a few questions to keep in mind when you are ordering your candy: How many people are attending the event?
• Large Events & Weddings: 8 – 10 types of candy (10-15 lbs each)
• Small Events (under 100): 5 – 8 types of candy (5 –10 lbs each)
The quantities above are a general guideline, but the more abundant and full the candy buffet looks, the better!

4.
Type of Candy To Order:
Use a variety of types of candies; individually wrapped, unwrapped with a hard candy shell (i.e. M&M's
, skittles), hard candies, gummy candies, lollipops, old-fashioned candy sticks, Jellybeans etc. Purchase in bulk, online. You can store candy up to 6 months but always check with the candy manufacture. To narrow down the wide selection of candies available, which can be overwhelming when you're deciding on the candy "menu", focus on creating a buffet that matches your party colors and/or theme. Don’t forget to include some non-sugar candy options for diabetic guests plus if you know some guests are allergic to nuts/peanuts avoid these types of candies. Also consider your setting, example, if you're having an outdoor event in the summer, you may want to avoid chocolate, yogurt-covered candies, and other types of candy that can melt in the heat.

If you're ordering candy online, be sure to place your order well in advance so that you have time to stage
the buffet at home before the party and order more candy if necessary. You also want to avoid rush shipping fees, as bulk candy can be very heavy and shipping cost a lot! If it's possible for you to buy bulk candy locally, bring your containers into the store with you to make sure you purchase the correct amount.

5. Type of Containers:
Use different shapes, sizes, and heights of containers, and make sure the openings are wide enough for guests to scoop candy from. It’s great to use vases, or something glass. Your buffet will look more appealing if the guests can see the candy. Make sure you can fill your containers to the top! Ask friends and family for containers and don't forget to check your local thrift stores.

6. Candy Scoops: There are all sizes out there. Colors, wood, metal, plastic, stainless steel....
www.scoops-scoops.com has over 60 scoops, tongs, and ladles to choose from.

7. Take Home Containers: You can use cello bags, Clear Favor Cones, Chinese boxes available at your local craft store, little paper bags. You can personalize your candy bags or boxes with the name and date and match the theme of your event.

8. Decorating The Candy Table: Your table should match your party's overall colour theme. Use a table cloth that matches your colour scheme. To help create a full look to your buffet use other decorative "filler" items on the table around the candy jars such as Paper lanterns, flowers, flower petals, and picture frames with the guest of honour. Phone books under tablecloths give the containers height. Label the candy on your buffet, so your guests know what type of candy!
